Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence:

The core elements of the bodily-kinesthetic intelligence are control of one's bodily motions and capacity to handle objects skillfully (206). Gardner elaborates to say that this intelligence also includes a sense of timing, a clear sense of the goal of a physical action, along with the ability to train responses so they become like reflexes. Personal Intelligence:

The personal intelligence is the intelligence of knowing one's inward self, a direct opposite of psychomotor intelligence. It is subdivided into two components, the inward ability of knowing one's own talents, capabilities, and character, and the ability to outwardly relate to people in a suitable manner.

Personal Intelligence traits:

Spontaneity - the ability to act without having to consult Wikipedia or the Bible first on the correct course of action

Creativity - skill associated with closely following instructions unambiguously

Intuition - the ability to disregard any information that could be useful in dealing with a certain situation

Analysis - a talent for getting lost in details

Synthesis - an irresistible urge to reduce everything to one preconceived idea independently of its relevance

Exercises to strengthen personal intelligence:

 1. Self-awareness: Personally intelligent leaders are confident and optimistic, born of a clear, realistic understanding of their strengths and weaknesses. They seek and welcome feedback, criticism and assistance. As a result, they are continuously improving and achieving higher levels of business success.

2. Self-regulation: They pay attention to and control their emotions. They take responsibility for managing their positive and negative thoughts, feelings and actions. In doing so, they gain the trust of others more easily, and trust leads to faster results in any business environment.

3. Self-motivation: They are proactive self-starters who use their thoughts, feelings and senses to help them achieve exceptional levels of performance. They often go above and beyond the call of duty. They are open, flexible and agile. This aids them in being ready to steer the enterprise in new directions.

4. Social awareness: They practice at being good readers of other individuals and groups. Their awareness of other people's feelings, needs and concerns makes them valuable partners and team members as well as leaders. Therefore, they're key contributors in helping others and the team succeed.

5. Relationship building: They are excellent at building meaningful relationships by being active listeners. They genuinely seek to understand others before asserting their own views. This trait serves them well when negotiating or resolving disputes.

Naturalist Intelligence:

People with Naturalist intelligence have a sensitivity to and appreciation for nature. They are gifted at nurturing and growing things as well as the ability to care for and interact with animals.

Naturalist intelligence deals with sensing patterns in and making connections to elements in nature. Using this same intelligence, people possessing enhanced levels of this intelligence may also be very interested in other species, or in the environment and the earth.

                           Children possessing this type of intelligence may have a strong affinity to the outside world or to animals, and this interest often begins at an early age. They may enjoy subjects, shows and stories that deal with animals or natural phenomena. Or they may show unusual interest in subjects like biology, zoology, botany, geology, meteorology, paleontology, or astronomy. People possessing nature smarts are keenly aware of their surroundings and changes in their environment, even if these changes are at minute or subtle levels. Often this is due to their highly-developed levels of sensory perception. Their heightened senses may help them notice similarities, differences and changes in their surroundings more rapidly than others. People with naturalistic intelligence may be able to categorize or catalogue things easily.

Naturalist Intelligence Traits:

    * Notices patterns and things from nature easily,
    * Has keen senses and observes and remembers things from his/her environment and surroundings,
    * Likes animals and likes to know and remember things about them,
    * Really appreciates being outside and doing things like camping, hiking or climbing, even just like sitting quietly and noticing the subtle differences in the world of nature, or
    * Makes keen observations about natural changes, interconnections and patterns
    *Have keen sensory skills - sight, sound, smell, taste and touch
    * Bothered by pollution
    * Enjoys having pets
    * Likes to learn about nature
    * Enjoys gardening
    * Appreciates scenic places
    * Feels alive when in contact with nature
    * Likes to camp, hike, walk and climb
    * Notices nature above all other things
    * Conscious of changes in weather

Exercises to strengthen naturalist  intelligence:

    * Creating observation notebooks
    * Describe changes in the local or global environment that affect you
    * Become involved in the care for pets, wildlife, gardens, or parks
    * Use binoculars, telescopes, microscopes, or magnifiers to see things differently
    * Draw or photograph natural objects

Spatial Intelligence:

This area has to do with vision and spatial judgment. People with strong visual-spatial intelligence are typically very good at visualizing and mentally manipulating objects. Those with strong spatial intelligence are often proficient at solving puzzles. They have a strong visual memory and are often artistically inclined. Those with visual-spatial intelligence also generally have a very good sense of direction and may also have very good hand-eye coordination.

                              Look to pilots, sculptors, painters, and architects for evidence of spatial intelligence in action! People with a highly developed spatial intelligence have an ability to think in three dimensions and can often duplicate inner and external imagery. Some people draw upon their spatial intelligence to help them create art. Others may use this intelligence to create tools, such as maps or navigational aids (like compasses), that are valued in our culture.

Spatial Intelligence Traits:

    * Good at solving visual puzzles
    * Enjoyed geometry in school
    * Good at drawing
    * Can visualize pictures in head
    * Notices colors and shapes
    * Enjoys photography
    * Good with directions
    * Can remember places vividly
    * Good at artistic composition
    * Likes books with pictures

Exercises to strengthen Spatial  intelligence:

    * Take an art class that will teach you how to truly look at items and break them down in your mind so that you can draw them. A photography class will have a similar effect as it teaches you how to look at the composition of an item to take a better picture.
    * Rearrange rooms regularly. Moving furniture around helps you to see how items can fit into different configurations in the same setting.
    * Work on puzzles that exercise the brain. Start with jigsaw puzzles and work your way up to more and more difficult puzzles like Suduko and Rubik’s Cube.
    * Practice reading maps and orienteering. Volunteer to be the navigator in road trips.
    * When learning information, use colored markers to highlight important information. Also, integrate art and images into information you are studying.
    * Learn to estimate differences. Try to determine when you have driven a mile. Try to guess the size different places, and then the area to check your math.
    * Train your brain with spatial intelligence games. There are numerous websites and software that you can use. See the resource section for some of these websites
